About Me...
Jack of all trades and master of none! I started my Hairdressing career when my son went to creche... I went to Northlink college full time and on weekends I worked in a bank as a teller to cover my transport fees. On a Saturday afternoon after cashing up, I went to a local salon in Centre Point shopping centre to do my apprenticeship hours for my log book's practical hours.
I truly love what I do. Hair is my canvas and its my escape for an hour or so, to be creative. I think Vidal Sassoon said it best, “For me, the working of hair is architecture with a human element.” I'm not only a qualified hairstylist by trade, but also a friend, a mother, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on. That defines who I am in life; always the crazy, creative one with the heart of gold. You know what they say, “A good stylist is cheaper than a good therapist.”
In 2018, I decided to start my own little salon at home. The 3rd bedroom was renovated and it is my safe haven to escape to. Business was extremely slow at that point in time, so I was fortunate enough to expand my knowledge and my cv by working in an office environment, while still doing hair after hours and on weekends. This continued for 10 months before the COVID-19 lockdown. My faith has been tested over and over again through this period but lo and behold the beauty industry has been allowed to start operating again, so with an abundance of Faith, my amazing clients, supportive family and amazing friends to support me, Hair By Sanette has risen up from the ashes stronger even than before!
I so look forward to meeting with you and making you feel like a million dollars with an awesome new cut, colour or treatment! Life is short. You might as well live it with really great hair!
